Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 100 === This study focuses on two core values of character, "determination" and "wisdom". Two classes of sixth graders in Changhua County were involved in the study. One class, as the experimental group, took character education course using blended learning. The other class, as the control group, took character education course using traditional teaching method. Both groups had the same teacher and learning contents during nine classes of character education course in five weeks. The two groups had pre-test of the character-belief scale before the character education course and had post-test of character-belief scale after the experiment. The experimental group filled questionnaire about the character education website after the experiment. Part of the students in experimental group received individual interview. This study not only investigated the difference of the character-belief of the sixth graders between the experimental group and the control group but also analyzed the difference of expressing opinions on discussing issues between the two groups and organized the reflection contents fed back by students on the reflection area of the character education website. This study analyzed the situation of the students accepting the character education website from the questionnaire about the character education website and the interview records. The study showed that the two groups had significant progress on the character-belief after character education course, and had no significant difference before and after the experiment between the two groups. The two groups differed in number, content and interactive process when they expressed their opinions on discussing issues. The control group, which wrote down their opinions on paper, had more number of people and had more contents than the experimental group on expressing effective opinions . However, the students in the experimental group using the discussion and reflection forum of the character education website interacted with each other more frequently than the control group during the process of discussion. The experimental group saw the entire opinions of other students in the discussion and reflection forum when using the character education website. The experimental group were active throughout the discussion process, even at home they continued to express their opinions or respond to peers. This is something the control group were unable to do. About 69 per cent of the experimental group reflected on the behavioral goals of the character core values. Character education by using character education website were highly accepted by the experimental group. Through the interviews the study found that using blended learning in the classroom can increase students' interest in learning character education . In order to increase the number of students to express their opinions and rich the contents of their opinions, the study suggests that teachers let students write their discussion opinions on paper, and then encourge students to express their opinions by using the discussion forum of the character education website .
