Summary:碩士 === 中國科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 100 === Abstract This text is studying subsidiary of financial holding company and independent bank in Taiwan, using 2006-2010 financial affair statistics for five consecutive years, comparing the efficient manifestation between two types of bank through Data Envelopment Analysis, the results of this research can be referred for operator to establish strategy. This article adopts intermediation approach and profit analysis to evaluate the total technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, scale efficiency, scale remuneration and the relative value of efficiency in CCR, BCC and bilateral model, and using the result to compare and analysis. This research discovers there are no significantly different levels in efficiency value between two kinds of bank, due to the diversity of the scale and form of organization, their operating effect is almost the same. Approximately, the subsidiary of financial holding company has higher scale efficiency, and independent bank has higher technical efficiency. Through the financial tsunami, on the approach of the bank act as the intermediation function, these two kinds of bank have increased their operating efficiency, especially the technical efficiency of subsidiary of financial holding company. However, on the approach of the obtain benefits, two kinds of efficiency value are both on the low side and have no improvement, furthermore, the mean of efficiency value which subsidiary of financial holding company has falls behind the independent bank.
