The annually published cause of death analysis by the Department of Health Taiwan is a valuable database, but it lacks details of trauma breakdown. It is only through trauma registering system could we understand more of the injury pattern in Taiwan whereby important medical policies, such as trauma prevention, emergency medical system, and trauma care could be planned. Therefore it is imminent for us to set up a feasible, practical, and reliable trauma registering database, and this will be our immediate goal.
