Summary: | 碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 文教事業經營研究所 === 100 === The purpose of this study was to explore the attitudes toward money and consumer behaviors for school children. The differences and correlations between these two variables were examined. The questionnaire survey was used in the study. There were 668 participants in the study selected through purposive samplings from the upper 5th and 6th graders of elementary schools in Taichung City. The data gathered from the survey were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson''s product-moment correlation and multiple stepwise regression.
The major findings of this study are listed below:
1. The attitudes toward money and the consumer behaviors for school children tended to reach moderate-low level regardless of the dimensions in power/prestige, plan, distrust and anxiety.
2. Differences were found between different grades of school children in the dimensions of power/prestige, anxiety, and plan.
3. There was a positive correlations between the attitudes towards money and consumer behaviors.
4. The attitudes toward money are able to predict consumer behaviors.
Finally, based on the data analysis, suggestions were made for parents, teachers, elementary schools, and future study to improve school children’s financial management education.
