BIM(Building Information Models) technology and AutoCAD Civil 3D software seem can be able to reaching these objects. In addition , using Civil 3D software database system can effectively reduce the mistake of design and budget modification. In this study, the planning area is Chaoyang University of Technology, from student dormitory to front brick square of administration center. Using traditional AutoCAD 2D and new development Civil 3D software for Planning. The planning include topographic map, standard cross-section diagram, profile diagram and planning diagram.The comparation between two methods for further discussions is adopted in this study. In addition, using the Google Earth and Civil 3D software that can gain speedily correction in this study, too . Results as following: (1)Using Civil 3D complete the preliminary topographic map, standard cross-section diagram, profile diagram and planning diagram. But, there are needed a lot of efforts in advance in the future. (2)The correction function of Civil 3D software can save a lot of times in planning process.
