Description
Summary:碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 資訊與通訊系碩士班 === 100 === Network is a really common technology and it brings people to convenient nowadays. However, network security is a big challenge. Therefore, network invasion have to be defended and the relevant research in remote detecting Operating System (OS) have been developing. This paper presents a novel flowchart to detect remote Operating System (OS). The novel flowchart includes a new process of OS fingerprinting with k-means algorithm as a matching method. The proposed OS fingerprinting flowchart is different from that the Xprobe2 software detects OS by using packets for all seven modules. The result of experiments demonstrates that only one packet is needed for detecting Windows OS and two packets are needed for Linux OS with. Comparing with the Xprobe2 software, the proposed flowchart can identify the OSs with much fewer packets for avoiding awareness of the host.
