Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 電機工程所 === 100 === In this study, we use two simple and traditional fabrications, mix and stack which is composed of vertical (V) and horizontal polyimide (H) to make the high-pretilt liquid crystal cells, and the pretilt angle can be controlled over the full range ( 0°~90°). We chose two sets polyimide combination which include strong (+) and weak (-) anchoring energy to fabricate samples and discuss their physical phenomena like pretilt angle, surface energy and polar anchoring energy. For mixing fabrication, the pretilt angles by mixing with V-H- is higher than those with V+H-; on the other hand, the pretilt angles by mixing with V-H+ is higher than those with V+H+. Furthermore the coefficient constant of anchoring energy by mixing with V-H- is the strongest in the four cases; but the coefficient constant of anchoring energy by mixing with V+H+ is the weakest one. In the same time, we found that for stack fabrication, there are similar results as mixing fabrication.
