In other words, Pei-hsi tzu-I not only keeps track of Ch’en Ch’un's thinkings, but also constructs the context of the scholarship of Ch’en Ch’un or Zhu Xi. Furthermore, it provides followers a access to Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism. The first chapter illustrates research interests of this paper. In research motivation part initial problematics are described, while in research purpose part main goal and related statements that could possibly prove the existence of Chen Chun's scholarship are shown. The second chapter first integrates a traditional image of Chen Chun from previous researches on him, then explains his learning experience, from Zhu Xi's ideas and the book of Jin Si Lu, to his own Yan Ling Handouts which respects Zhu Xi and builds Chen's own academic tradition. The third chapter discusses different editions of Pei-hsi tzu-I. With the differences in its title, table of contents and prefaces/postscripts from publishers, the awareness of publishing and the position of Pei-hsi tzu-I could be compared. The fourth chapter clarifies the handout form of Pei-hsi tzu-I, first by unveiling its logic of terminology choices in Neo-Confucianism and the structure of argumentation, next selecting viewpoints that could reason the statements and narrative mode of Chen Chun, which is across the boundary of Neo-Confucianism or Confucianism, to declare his purpose of using form to strengthen his argumentation, and then construct Chen Chun's scholarship in Pei-hsi tzu-I. The fifth chapter is “Conclusion”. Chen Chun's place in the academic history is not only a notable disciple of Zhu Xi. The unique form in his Pei-hsi tzu-I , and his advance in Zhu Xi's scholarship, reveal his self-expectation which corresponds the contexts of Neo-Confucianism. Pei-hsi tzu-I and Yan Ling Handouts, as his representation of Neo-Confucianism after deep comprehension, consist in Chen' s scholarship. Lee,Chi-Hsiang 李紀祥 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 231 zh-TW
