Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系 === 100 === Abstract This thesis investigates the characteristics of the humanitarian face of Christianity, looking especially at how Christianity has a positive attitude to life and death. The study found that the general public has learnt that death is not vanishing. Rather death is the passage to a new life. Christian spiritual care for the dying in their final stages of growth can help them to achieve a perfect eternal life. The thesis asks if religion can give people courage in the face of death. It finds that the principal idea of Christianity is love. Without love there is no salvation; without salvation people have no cause for hope. God is love and He teaches us to love one another. In the Bible there are three kinds of love: God’s love for his people, the people’s love of God and love among people. Since God first loved us we too must love one another for God’s sake. Mother Teresa said, Show love now; do not shirk the opportunity or delay.” She also said, “Yesterday is gone; tomorrow has not yet come; we have only today. Let us begin.” We have to learn to be humble, small and helpless in order to love.
