碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系 === 100 === The thesis is focusing on the discussion about Spirituality of Liberation Theology and Spirituality of Mother Teresa. Firstly, I will introduce Spirituality of Libration Theology as well as its essentials. Meanwhile, I present how the Church views on this movement of Theology through her decrees and documents. By choosing the name of two main representatives (Gustavo Gutiérrez and Jon Sobrino), I will discuss the relation between their spirituality and the libration for the poor. Secondly, I will introduce Mother Teresa’s spirit with her spiritual essentials, including her life, background as well as the reason for her personal vow to serve the poor. In the aspect of serving the poor, I will see what is her motivation, how she responses to God’s call, how she helps to restore the poor’s dignity. The aim of this discussion is to understand the characteristic of her spirituality. Finally, the last part is a comparison between Spirituality of Liberation Theology and Spirituality of Mother Teresa in order to see their similarities as well as dissimilarities. By this thesis, I found that two kinds of the mentioned spirituality include not only the concern to the concrete situation of humanity, but also the prophetic spirit. Facing to the complexity of history, to the different social systems, to cultures and religions, everyone needs to be purified oneself by equipped with spirituality, not to limit oneself with some certain kind of modes. Each person needs to be brave to voice for the poor, the sick and the weak, needs to live out the contemplation in action. Understanding Spirituality of Liberation Theology and Spirituality of Mother Teresa, this helps to strengthen each person’s spiritual life, and to prove that spirituality is something unpractical or unfeasible. Actually, in contrast, it is really practical and feasible.
