A questionnaire of“the relationship between work values and job involvement of different generations of elementary school teachers” was used to collect data. In this study, elementary school teachers who serve in New Taipei City were targeted. A total of 760 questionnaires were distributed, and 621 valid respondents are returned, the returning ratio is 81.71%. The data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 including relative statistics, including the mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression methods. The major findings are as follows: 1.The degree of elementary school teacher’s work values including work environment stability, personal growth and achievement, altruistic service, interpersonal relationship, financial reward are above medium. 2. The degree of elementary school teacher’s job involvement is above medium. 3. The perception of work values when teachers are different in sex, generation, teacher education background, matrimony, number of children, their work values including work environment stability, personal growth and achievement, altruistic service, financial reward are different significantly. 4. There are significant differences of the respondents’ perceptions of their job involvement when they are different in sex, generation, teacher education background, administrative seniority, number of children, their job involvement preparatory work, work responsibility, job identification. 5. A comparatively low to medium degree of positive correlated relationships between work values, such as teachers’ work environment stability, personal growth and achievement, interpersonal relationship, financial reward are found to their job involvement. There is high degree of positive correlation between altruistic service of work values and job involvement. 6. For elementary school teachers, the degree of their job involvement can be predicted by their work values which including altruistic service, personal growth and achievement, work environment stability, and financial rewards. Among the variables, the "altruistic service" can be seen as the best predictive power. According to the results of the study, further recommendations to educational administrators, school principals, elementary school teachers and future researchers were made.
