Summary: | 碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 社會福利學系碩士班 === 100 === The purpose of this study is to understand family influences on academic achievements of the junior high school students in Hsinchu City. The method of this research employed qualitative design. There were 24 interviewees included in the study (10 junior high school students, 8 parents and 6 teachers). After analyzing and collaborating family and academic achievements from interviews, the conclusions showed that: Education, occupations, and financial situations explained academic achievements; helping and guiding to schoolwork would be beneficial on academic achievements; higher level of occupations had positive impact on the achievement; workplace also affected family on teaching children; participating the class of after-school or studying with home tutor were helpful on the academic; relationship, style, leisure activities, companioning and communication were important factors on the achievements; parenting method also played an important role on academic achievement.
