In the field of mass media, the non-profit business structure and the culture of religion has shaped the religious cable network into a highly competitive and unique environment. Specifically in religious media networks, religious cable networks have become a useful tool for religious organizations to spread religion and community service. The distinctive structure and business model of religious cable network has set this specific genre of cable network apart from others. The non –profit religious cable network functions on a different management structure from other cable media networks. This thesis will explore the most suitable structures for religious cable networks by discussing existing religious cable networks marketing strategies and influence. Current Buddhist cable networks such as DaAi TV, Beautiful Life TV, Universal Culture Television, Buddha Compassion TV, HZ TV, and Life TV, etc. will be compared, contrasted and evaluated through three forms of research: documentations, program detail breakdowns, and questionnaires. This thesis will incorporate ideas that religious cable networks should not only preach to its audience but also apply multifaceted techniques to connect with a broad audience by creatively expressing core fundamentals of non-profit organizations which leads to a better management of donations and a stable financial status. Through the enhancement of creatively marketed programs, religious cable network programs will result in bettering the society, positive audience review and generating goodwill donations. Therefore, religious cable network programs need to be flexibly adaptive in generating reviews, staying current, choosing beneficial strategies, reaching a wide range of audience, carrying out communication with our society and creating versatile quality programs in order to stay competitive in the cable network media market.
