Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 公共衛生學研究所 === 100 === Cigarette smoke is an important issue in public health. Some studies find that the majar composition of the cigarette, nicotine , release into the blood flow and integrate with nicotinic acetycholine receptors (nAChRs), and mediate to the release of Dopamine.Nicotinic acetycholine receptors (nAChRs) include muscle and neuronal receptors. Neuronal receptors constitute by 5 subunits, includes α2~α10 and β2~β4. Prior researches suggested that the variations of nAChRs gene polymorphisms may influence some kind of physical functions. For instance, Korea study found that CHRNA2 gene polymorphism may be related to overweight/obesity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the association, among nAChRs gene polymorphisms, cigarette smoking, and biochemical biomarkers. Therefore, this case-control study recruited a total of 232 participants, 116 Smokers and 116 reference (health adults), in the year 2010 in a Community hospital. Collected data include demographics, body obesity index (including BH, BMI, the waist, the hip), and blood pressure. Fasting blood sample were also collected and plasma biochemical and nicotine metabolism were analyzed.DNA was also extracted for Genotyping. Genotyping was performed using TaqMan R SNP Genotyping Assays. Gene polymorphism analyses included CHRNA3 (rs7177514), CHRNA5 (rs17486278), CHRNA7 (rs6494223, rs2337980), CHRNB4 (rs11636605) and CHRNG (rs713041). Our results showed that CHRNB4 rs11636605 was associated with increase weight and BMI. CHRNB4 rs11636605 might be a risk factor for weight and BMI especially in the Smokers.
