And with its convenient and comfortable room, there are getting more and more tourists from various places would rather stay at B&B. While the development of B&B business appears its promising and positive vision especially in the tribal areas of Taiwan indigenous peoples, it also brings negative influences like neglecting local human rights, destroying eco-environmental reservation, and affecting tribal future. This study focus on B&B management and development in indigenous areas called Paskwaran tribe in Wufeng village, Hsin-ju County, and takes “Ground theory” to explore how the tribe begins its B&B business originally from an individual management to the following collective actions; meanwhile, this study will try to build up a constructive and systematic concept of how Paskwaran tribe develops its sustainable strategies. B&B business and management in Paskwaran tribe, either individual one or collective ones, has its special experiences and stories worthy of being known by government, and mainstream society. Therefore, the researcher observes, records, and interviews nine B&B owners in the tribe, and divides their developmental experiences into following five phases: (1)the period of road exploitation for industrial and agricultural purpose, (2)the successful model of the first B&B in Paskwaran tribe, (3)the participation of volunteer worker after the Ai-li Typhoon, (4)the forming of a local cooperative organization, (5)management of second generation and its future development. This study indicates in chapter four that the two major conflicts of Paskwaran tribe lie in the acquisition of social resources from outside, and the gap between two local family sections. And in chapter five, research on tribal awakening and meeting shows that, by self decision-making and learning, B&B business in Paskwaran tribe has gradually rebuild its future vision and strategies by devoting more social concern and making good use of social resources. Finally in chapter six, the researcher proposes that Paskwaran tribe has its unique concept of managing B&B business, and in northern part of Taiwan indigenous villages, it can be qualified as a model. Thus, this study hopes to provide Paskwaran tribe a sustainable way to learn more knowledge of management, pass down traditional culture, and protect natural environment, then they could establish a better B&B business.
