It changes people’s living habits, especially after the emergence and development of open platform for smart phones. It drastically affects people’s living. Recently, users are increasing because smart phones make daily communication easier and diverse. Furthermore, mobile network and related available services are now more close to living. Along with the growing population of the elderly, orange technology has emerged in recent years, making the issue of homecare for elderly more and more important. Owing to the physical strength decline and exiting from labor market of elderly, living pattern of elderly is slightly different from that of young people. To avoid disturbing the elderly when they are taking rest or unavailable to answer the call, this study utilizes Android smart phone platform to develop an auto SMS responder. This application switches the mobile to vibration or silent mode and sends the preset message to the caller when the elderly are unavailable. App users can preset messages to reply when they have fixed schedule and unavailable to be in contact.
