The global demand for electric lighting will rise 80% in 2030 by the experts forecast. The lighting can be divided into commercial(70%), residential(26%) and street lighting(4%). The global lighting consumption can reduce 38% by the efficient lighting equipment. Energy conservation is not to reduce energy use and the quality of life. The energy should be used efficaciously. It is important to spend energy wisely. We propose an effective energy saving lighting system for Tainan Vocational Training Center. Tainan Vocational Training Center’s classrooms are the same as traditional classrooms and offices. They control fluorescent lighting by the switches separately. If the some students need lighting in different blocks, the lighting must provide all the power to waste much unnecessary electricity for lighting. The fluorescents are used mostly in the offices and teaching environment. The major energy saving is suitable lighting. According to the energy saving principles of Taiwan Green Productivity Foundation, We propose a smart lighting control system from light source control, ballast’s improvement, artificial lighting, natural light and other considerations. The system architecture includes sensing module, lighting module, Bluetooth module, single-chip control module, memory module and the main system control computer. The human sensor is used in sensing module. Serial EEPROM is used in memory module. The main system control computer transfers data to a single-chip control module through Bluetooth. The single-chip control module controls lighting through D/A Converter by data that receives from the main system control computer. We can control lighting according to the brightness that is displayed on the main system monitor. We can use Notebook, Personal Computer, and Tablet Personal Computer for the main system control computer. We can also use Bluetooth Dongle in computer without Bluetooth. When the people come into the sensing area, the lighting will be started with the regular lighting. The main system control computer can control lighting with the reaction of the region and record of brightness by wireless. When the blocks have no people, we can select light lighting mode or power off mode to conserve energy. This system will ensure to promote lighting efficaciously. We can combine smart to use natural light and dimming to conserve energy. We believe this system will be used widely in the offices and teaching environment. This system will provide the efficient lighting. We will do our best as we can to conserve energy.
