This means that the proprietors and contractors would like to spread the risk through the mechanism of Contractors’ All Risks Insurance. However, it is usually that the majority of constructors are short of the professional knowledge with regard to insurance; by contrast, the employees of insurance companies are lake of either engineering background or engineering practice experience. Therefore, different interpretations occasionally occur; for example, to define “Sum of Insurance”, “Double Insurance”, “Policy Coverage”, “Claim for profit or management fee” etc. cause disputes resulted from ambiguities in the contract. Thus, once the project event has claimed, disputes between the insurance company and the contractors may occur. In this study, expert interviews, supplemented by literature method and four insurance cases are collected. By analyzing the backgrounds processes and final results drew from these cases, to provide reference materials concerning dispute solution for assureds and insurance companies is anticipated.
