The instruments used in this study were “Foreign Language Anxiety Inventory” and “English Learning Strategy Inventory”. The data was analyzed by t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-movement correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The main conclusions are as follows: 1. The current student anxiety was approximately at moderate level. 2. Students’English learning strategy was at moderate level. 3. Students’English learning competence was at moderate level. 4. Significant differences in foreign language anxiety were found among students’gender, grades and time spent in English learning. 5. Significant differences in English learning strategy were found among students’gender, grades and time spent in English learning. 6. Significant differences in English learning competence were found among students’gender, and time spent in English learning. 7. There were significant negative relationship between foreign language anxiety and English learning strategy. 8. There were significant negative relationship between foreign language anxiety and English learning competence. 9. There were significant positive relationship between English learning strategy and English learning competence. 10. Foreign language anxiety and English learning strategy could effectively predict English learning competence. Based on the above conclusions, this study comes up with tangible suggestions respectively so as to provide practical utilization regarding education and counseling and references for further research as well.
