Abstract
This study aims to explore the current status and relationship between happiness feeling and deviant behaviors of junior high school students in Keelung city, Taiwan. The analyses were conducted by examining variables such as gender, grade level, family structures. The socio-economic background of students’ parents was also taken into account. A total of 671 students from 23 classes at two junior high schools took the instruments, which include the “ Junior High School Student’s Happiness Feeling Inventory ”and the “Deviant Behavior Inventory”. The collected data are analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA , correlation and multiple regression analysis.
The major findings of this study are as follows:
1. The level of the junior high school students’happiness feeling
in Keelung is high.
2. The level of the junior high school students’deviant behavior in
Keelung is low .
3. Significant differences in gender, grade and family structure
were found in students’ happiness feeling. However, no differences
were found by the socio-economic status of students’parents.
4. Significant differences in gender, grade and family structure were
found in students’deviant behavior. However, no differences were
found by the socio-economic status of students’parents.
5. There is a significant relationship between students’ happiness
feeling and their deviant behavior.
6. The students’happiness feeling has significant impact to
students’deviant behavior.
Based on the above findings, some suggestions were proposed as a reference for practical application and future research.
