Description
Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 管理學院高階經理碩士學程 === 100 === To face the trend in the development of financial internationalization and liberalization of Taiwan''s financial markets, intense competition, the bank''s business strategy need to be adjusted for the changes in the environment and find a niche. The traditional deposit and loan business interest difference is gradually narrow and profit is continuing to reduce. Operation of banks is increasingly difficult. How to enhance the competitive advantage, expand the scale of operation, reduce operating costs is a very important topic. This study try to investigate the operating performance of the bank, to study the operating performance of banks under different input and output variables . The case of B Bank was chosen and this study period is from 2008-2011. An application of data envelopment analysis(Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA) and Tobit regression model were used to study the bank’s operating performance and try to find the resource allocation is appropriate or not. The empirical results are such as followings: 1.The case banks operating performance presents a slight upward trend year by year, the average overall efficiency of the value of 0.799, DMU01、05、27、 30 and four branches for four consecutive years to achieve overall complete efficiency. 2.The average pure technical efficiency of all branches is 0.919. The average scale efficiency value is 0.861. The reasons of case bank''s operation un efficiency, were mainly from scale inefficiency, and most of the branches facing the state of decreasing returns to scale. This result indicated that the efficiency failed to meet the economic benefits to maintain the economic scale. Therefore, the case bank should readjust the scale of operation, increase the business operations and enhance the quality of human resource to upgrade the bank''s overall business performance. 3.The operation efficiency of homes part-occupied branch is better than the leasing branch. 4.For the scale of business, a fully functional branch operating efficiency is better than the unit branch. 5.The operating performance of the regional part of the New Taipei City branch is better than the other areas’local branches.
