Summary:碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 化學工程與材料科技研究所 === 100 === Sodium chlorate , a strong oxidant, is produced industrially by the electrolysis of sodium chloride solutions with sodium dichromate as the inhibitor of side reactions. Because of the highly toxic nature and yellow appearance of hexavalent chromium compounds, it is necessary to remove chromium for the down-stream uses of sodium chlorate. Several methods for removing chromates and recycling them for reuse were compared and tested. The best procedure that effectively removes chromates is by the crystallization, centrifugation, and washing of sodium chlorate crystals.
