These cultural projects promote certain types of culture or cultural production, but it is unclear if people really know and understand the concepts for these projects. Determining how messages are delivered through these cultural production processes is the key point of this research. In academic reviews, it has been suggested that storytelling is one of most efficient ways to communicate and pass messages. This research scope includes cases under the “New Life for Old Houses” which is taking place in Tainan as the research target; “New Life for Old Houses” is a cultural production project, which has been run by the Foundation of Historic City Observation and Regeneration from 2008 up to the present. The research is focused on a storytelling model, which has not yet been discovered in the cultural production process. With in-depth interview data and analysis using grounded theory with open coding, there were eight gaps found existing in the project. These gaps help to determine the elements for the cultural project storytelling model. The result of this study is to propose a storytelling model in the cultural production process and to enhance the role of storytelling in that process, which can also result in the delivery of the symbolic meaning of cultural projects to the public.
