In addition, the platform can retrieve water resources data from WRISP of Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan via loosely coupled XML/SOAP mechanism. In the platform, the system transmits monitoring data in ASCII format under GPRS and Internet to the Data Center. The system can be managed via the Control Center remotely. Moreover, a multimedia center is included. The platform can be further enhanced by introducing an alert system for detecting and prevention of hazard conditions.
