Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 工業教育與技術學系 === 100 === ABSTRACT This study explores the difficulties of classroom management under the phenomenon of declining birthrate among elementary school homeroom teachers based on individual background and school environment variables. Questionnaire survey method was conducted after a thorough literature review. The population pool of this study included all public elementary school homeroom teachers from Taichung City, Nantou County and Changhua County. These teachers from 70 schools were randomly selected. A total of 824 questionnaires were returned while 844 questionnaires have been distributed; 800 questionnaires were valid. Thus, the valid return ratio was 97.08%. The collected data was analyzed by statistical methods of frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe posteriori comparisons. Conclusions and recommendations were made in accordance with the results of the analysis. Results were summarized as follows: 1. The elementary school homeroom teachers had higher than medium degree difficulties of classroom management under the phenomenon of declining birthrate. 2. The elementary school homeroom teachers had the highest difficulties of classroom management in counciling practice aspect under the phenomenon of declining birthrate. 3. The teachers with 10 to 15 years teaching experiences and the teachers teaching in higher grade had difficulties of classroom management under the phenomenon of declining birthrate. 4. The teachers teaching in Taichung city; the teachers teaching in school size of 49 classes and over; and, the teachers with student number of 30 and above per class had difficulties of classroom management under the phenomenon of declining birthrate.
