On selecting the vendors of business process outsourcing in healthcare industry, We should consider many decision criteria and the integration of vendors. Because the service is continuous and whole for the patients, there are many units work collaboratively to perform the service. The integration involves both process: (1) integration between healthcare outsourcer and vendors and (2) integration between different units and functions in the healthcare industry. The situation of selecting the business process outsourcing vendors would be multi-criteria and multi-combinations decision problem. We couldn't effectively solve this hard problem by the approaches proposed for the outsourcing decision in the past.
This paper develop a healthcare business process outsourcing vendor selection model. The healthcare industry manager could fast and easily perform the outsourcing vendor selection tasks by this model. We also proposed a combination computing approach which is the genetic algorithm incorporating the rough set theory. With the knowledge rule extracted from rough set theory and designed fitness function, the approach could found the optimal vendors combination for the healthcare business process outsourcing.
