In this thesis, a keyboard with backlight is proposed which is based on the main fram of a traditional keyboard. A light guide plate (LGP) with eight light-emitting diodes (LED) is integrated into the traditional keyboard as the lighting source. Therefore, a redesigning cost of a keyboard can be reduced. The testing software Keyboard Test v3.0 by PassMark is adopted to check the functions of a keyboard. From the eye diagrams, the operator can easily and obviously find out if all the testing parameters are passed. The testing method of electrical characteristics proposed in this thesis can detect if the response rate meets the communication between the keyboard and the PC.
