Poetry is the most graceful language in China. And Tang Dynasty could be viewed as the golden age of Poetry. While making studies of poetry, most researchers would take the poets in Tang Dynasty as the research targets. However, instead of Tang Dynasty, plenty of poems were made in Yuan Dynasty as well. Moreover, the achievement of poetry works was not worse than that of the literati’s poetry works in Tang Dynasty, especially the poetry works of the literati between the end of Sung Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty. Because of the switching of the dynasties, the terrible feelings of losing the country were usually represented in the poems. Because being in the most hopeless situation in the life, the poems could more show up the selfhood in the deep mind as well as the yearning of the spiritual life. Therefore, the poems were not only the expression of the mood at that time but the reflection of the literati’s true life experience and the thought. Besides, they were also the records of what the literati’s internal struggling and how they comfort themselves. Among the poets in Yuan Dynasty, Sung Wu was one of the representatives. His poems were quite individualized and famous at that time. Although the dynasty changed after nineteen years he was born, he missed his own country, Sung Dynasty, and was unsatisfied with Yuan Dynasty pretty much. The poets in Yuan Dynasty had some states of melancholy for the age. The poetry during this period could represent the true situation of the society more. In the age of such background, poets committed their emotion in the poems. For the reasons, this study would go deep into the poems of Sung Wu.
