Since the paddy field needs much more water than other crops, there will be a serious impact on traditional agriculture in Taiwan, especially in the dry period from November to April, in which also the first paddy rice is grown. Therefore, it is important for water resource planner to apply saving water ways to reduce the impact of drought during the dry period. This research is to collect all the information of Taiwan’s Weather Stations from 1992 to 2011, including Ilan, Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hengchun,and Hualien, and analyze the effects of the rain, irrigation requirement, and the irrigation water by different growing period while the first paddy rice is planted each 120, 115, 110, 105, 100 days and the second paddy rice is planted each 100, 113, 116, 119, 120 days. It can be referred to adjust the first and second paddy rice cultivation growing period adjustment. These suggestions can serve as the foundation for the irrigation bureau to implement a feasible irrigation ration policy The result of this research shows that we adjust the first paddy rice growing period backward, the irrigation water can be saved in Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hengchun. If we adjust the second paddy rice growing period backward, the irrigation water can be saved in Ilan and Hualien. 陳清田 學位論文 ; thesis 156 zh-TW
