The study adopts the method of questionnaire survey, selecting unmarried female between 35-59 years. 400 questionnaires are delivered and 368 acceptable questionnaires are collected. The instrument is the self-designed “Leisure Participation as Related to Lifestyles of mature and unmarried female’s questionnaire”. Frequent distribution, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe, Pearson product-moment correlation, discriminate Analysis, simultaneous regression, and cluster analysis are applied to conduct the gathered data. Significant findings are as follows: 1. The lifestyles of mature and unmarried females can be divided into “popular shopping orientation”, “life plan orientation”, “rational independent orientation”, “pursue achievement orientation”, “public relations achievement orientation” and “free orientation”. The key factor for the cognition of lifestyle of unmarried mature females is “popular shopping”. 2. According to age, education, profession, state of living, salary and steady dater , the mature and unmarried females have different lifestyles. 3. The types of leisure participation of the mature and unmarried females can be divided into "knowledge and art”, “recreation”, “carefree”, “sports”, “family style”, and “social relationship". The key factors for leisure participation are "knowledge and art" and "recreation". 4. According to age, education, profession, salary and steady daters, the unmarried mature females have variable leisure participation. 5. The leisure participation of the unmarried mature females has greatly positive to do with their lifestyles. The higher lifestyles they recognize, the higher they participate in leisure activities. Furthermore, females, who think highly of popular shopping, also highly participate in leisure activities. On the contrary, females, who tend to be rational and conservative, have much lower participation in leisure activities. 6. By cluster analysis, the mature and unmarried females can separated into "the type of social intercourse, the type of lohas and the type of passiveness". "The type of social intercourse" has good relationship with others, enjoy joining variable activities and love the carefree life, but they aren't zealous for fashion and shopping."The type of lohas" is excellent at planning their lives, and highly pursue the achivement from work. What’s more, they enjoy their lives and embrace new things easily. The age level of "The type of passiveness" is much lower, and their self-awareness is weaker.
