In OFDM systems, however, the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signal would induce the nonlinear distortion of the power amplifier and degrade the system performance. In this thesis, we describe an asymmetric Tone Reservation (TR) architecture to reduce the PAPR of the transmitted signal in an OFDM system. In the asymmetric tone reservation architecture, we first utilize a peak reduction tones selection algorithm to design the positions of the peak reduction tones. And then, a conventional peak cancellation processor would reduce the PAPR of the transmitted signal interactively. The proposed PAPR reduction architecture would be evaluated by computer simulations. According to the simulation results, the proposed scheme performs well even though the number of subcarriers is large. The PAPR reduction scheme with asymmetric PRT selection has low complexity for the hardware design. Chun-Chyuan Chen 陳俊全 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 64
