Summary:碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學系 === 100 ===  The main purpose of this research was to study current status of well-being for high grade elementary school students, and to explore the correlations among children’s personal profile(grades, gender, birth order, parents’ marriage, and socioeconomic status), self-concept , parent-child relationship and well-being. The instruments used in the study included Self-concept Scale, Parent-child Relationship Scale and Well-being Scale. The participants in this study included 682 fifth-grade and sixth-grade students in Changhua County. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted by means of descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The major findings of the study were as follows: 1. The students’ well-being is above the middle degree currently. The highest score in Well-being Scale is “interpersonal relationship”. 2. The well-being of the fifth-grade students is significant higher than the sixth-grade ones on the aspect of “self-assurance”. 3. The well-being of the first born children is significant higher than the youngest ones on the aspects of “life satisfaction” and “self-assurance”. 4. The well-being of students whose parents are in high socioeconomic status is significant higher than those in middle and low socioeconomic status on the aspect of “life satisfaction”. 5. Self-concept and well-being are significantly positive relation. 6. Parent-child relationship and well-being are significantly positive relation. 7. Self-concept and parent-child relationship can effectively predict the well-being of high grade elementary school students.     The study not only discussed the research result, but also gave some suggestions to parents, teachers, concerned organizations and researchers of extended studies.
