With rapid advances in the speed and computational capabilities of mainstream computers in recent decades, the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations as a means of predicting the hydrodynamic forces acting on a vessel under a wide range of environmental and operating conditions has attracted considerable interest in the maritime community. The advantages of CFD simulation of a ship advancing in waves to serve as a reference for maritime sciences research not only towing tests in the Towing Tank is avoided but also is a useful tool for the establishment of a yacht to the desigener. A yacht model was constructed using a computer aided design (CAD) tool. This study investigates a number of significant related parameters, such as the speed of the ship model, the varying periods of incident wave, the wave height, and the navigation time. The prediction of wake waves by a yacht on the sea is investigated. The effect of wake wash is analyzed by discussing the mechanics of wave generation from yacht motion in restricted water. The CFD package (Flow-3D) was used to calculate the hydrodynamic motions effect of a ship sailing in waves at varying periods of incidence wave. A chart is also used to show the ship’s tracks, the flow field pressure distribution, and changes in the six degrees of freedom motion and continually compare changes in the drag force and sway force. This study also establishes a relationship diagram of the hydrodynamic motions of a yacht advancing in waves to serve as a reference for ship design research regarding the complex fluid dynamics that occur when yacht is in the sea. 羅德章 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW
