Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 100 === This study investigated whether a review course designed from a movie could improve the interests of second grade junior high school students in learning science and improve their learning achievements more on the topic heat, compared with the traditional course reviewing by explaining graded papers returned back to students. The study used Scale of Interests in Learning Science translated and compiled from Lisa Linnenbrink-Garcia et al (2010) and an assessment for the heat concepts as the main research tools, accompanied with student interview. Two classes in Taichung city participated. The study designed the activity and the main teaching material selected from the movie by using ARCS proposed by Keller(1983). The results indicated the movie presentation grabbed students’ attention and thus they had a better triggered-SI. Students liked the fancy heat concept material in outer space and thus had a better maintained-SI-feeling. But students might be used to pen and paper tests and couldn’t understand the importance of what they learned and thus didn’t have a better maintained-SI-value. The interesting, abundant activities in class induced the students toward liking science and thus students had better latent interests. The course activities didn’t continually support situational interest in learning and thus the students didn’t develop a deeper inner value for learning science and thus didn’t have better actualized interests. As for the learning achievements, the mainly designed teaching material could help students keep their heat concept memories longer. The movie gave the students an abundant learning situation to help them think and observe the natural phenomena, reviewing the heat concepts. Further, students saw what they had learned from a different view point.
