The participants of the study were 45 senior students who were English majors in a private girls’ high school in Tainan City. After the 28-week ER project, based on the quantitative and qualitative data analyses, the findings of this research were summarized as follows: 1. ER made a significant difference in English reading performance in JTEE. 2. ER made a significant difference in English application performance in JTEE. 3. ER made a significant difference in English learning attitude. On the basis of the study findings, it is therefore suggested that English teachers involve ER in teaching, encourage students to read extensively, and form the habit of reading, in order to advance English learning.
