Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育學系 === 100 === The purpose of this study, using picture books teaching materials to conduct book sharing reading activities among third graders, is to investigate the effects of the activities on students’ attitude to the meaning of life. A quasi-experimental design is employed in this study, which recruit 71 third graders from three classes of an elementary school in Kaohsiung city. The twenty four pupils of the experimental group I are given book sharing reading activities with picture books teaching materials. The twenty four pupils of the experimental group II are given regular reading activities with picture books teaching materials. The twenty three pupils of the control group stay intact during the experiment. In the study, Life-Meaning Attitude Scale is employed to conduct the pretest, posttest and follow-up test. The obtained data are statistically analyzed through scores in the pretest as covariant and a One-way ANOVA to measure the immediate and continual effects of the treatment on the experimental group students. The results of this study were summarized as follows: A. Book sharing reading activities through picture books teaching materials have immediate effects on third graders’ attitude to the meaning of life at the level of passion, independence and positive for life. B. Book sharing reading activities through picture books teaching materials have continual effects on third graders’ attitude to the meaning of life at the level of passion and positive for life. Finally, according to the conclusions of this study, the researcher proposes some appropriate suggestions for future researches.
