How is the development of arts appreciation happened in elementary students, and which is the key point? Take the relevant theoretical literature as the framework, use Questionnaire Survey and Interview Survey to explore the appreciation development and attitudes growth of fourth grade students. Purposes of the study:(1) to explore children''s appreciation Development Process of the clay teapots, (2) analysis the factors which influcnce clay teapots appreciation development of the students, (3) analysis the factors which influcnce clay teapots attitudes of the students. In this study, an elementary school fourth grade class of Taitung County is the target. By the five craft outstanding characteristics of National Taiwan Craft Research Institute’s fifth National Crafts Awards Brochure: "Excellent, Beautiful, Local culture, Useful, Original", and Feldman :"Describe, Analyze, Interpret, Judge" for teaching content, to design clay teapot appreciation curriculum. Then develop "Clay teapot craft appreciation ability examination ", "Clay teapot craft appreciate attitude questionnaire", "Clay teapot craft appreciation ability observation record paper," "Student interview guide," " Record paper of student’s character" as the observation tools to do the quantitative and qualitative research. The following conclusions: The First, the approximate seven-stage of children’s clay pots appreciation ability are the cognition of material characteristics, determine the technology of work, appreciate the form style, multi-viewing angle, analyze the cultural characteristics, explain the utility function, understand the creative ingenuity. The Second, the ten factors influence the development of children’s clay pots appreciation ability are learning attitudes, knowledge enthusiasm, questions quality, learning breadth in learning characteristics aspect. Expression integrity, description endurance, content recurrence, appreciation qualities, personal style, with acceptance in appreciate abilities aspect. The third, the seven factors may affect the children’s clay pots attitudes growth are construction of knowledge, new knowledge, connotation breadth, cognitive level, appreciate stage, functional requirements, operational skills.
