Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 社會發展學系 === 100 === Abstract The purpose of this research is to explore the effects on the second grade students of the human rights education through the use of picture books. This study adopted quasi-experimental method and the targets were two classes of second graders of Ping Tung County. There were twenty six students in the experimental group that taking the program of activity of the human rights education by using picture books and the grogram was held once a week of eighty minutes, a total of ten weeks; and there were twenty seven students in the control group that taking the normal classes. This research adopted the “Survey Questionnaire on the Attitudes of Second grader pupils Toward Children''s Rights” as the study tool. It conducted pre-test, post-test, and tracking test and the gathered data was examined by ANCOVE, a one-way Analysis of Covariance and Paired-Samples T Test to analyze the immediately and continuous results of this program of activity. In addition, this study also analyzed the information according to “teaching observation and provincial thinking,” “study sheet,” “questionnaire on picture book teaching activity impression,” and “student interviews” in order to understand the effectiveness of the teaching. The major findings are summarized below: A. The program of activity of human rights education through picture books has the immediate result on second grader pupils’ human rights approach. B. The program of activity of human rights education through picture books has the continuous results on second grader pupils’ human rights approach. C. The activity of picture books teaching can increase the pupils’ learning motivation and enhance their learning effectiveness. D. Most members of the experimental group have the positive recognition and feedbacks and gain benefits and profound experience from this activity. According to the study results, the researcher provides suggestions from the aspects of schools, teachers’ teaching, future research as a reference to people in teaching practice and future related researches.
