Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 100 === This study focuses on how two early childhood teachers apply picture books to curriculum implementation. In this study, the qualitative, case research method was adopted. The research data were collected through observation, interview and document collection for two semesters in the research site. The findings show that these teachers made an effort to create an inviting reading environment, integrate picture books into the thematic curriculum, promote the parent-child reading programs, encourage children to visit picture book exhibitions, and combine available resources from the community, which made picture books accessible to children. In addition, these teachers applied a number of teaching strategies including dialogic reading, drama teaching and technology integration to foster children’s reading interest and habit. Furthermore, picture books in their classroom serve the purpose of providing knowledge as well as enjoyment. Finally, according to the research findings, suggestions were proposed for the early childhood teachers, educational institutes and future researchers.
