Women are hampered by the tradition, but they wish to find sustenance in spirit. Being a female, the researcher hopes to convey female unwilling thoughts by artistic creation and recall of growing experiences in her life, and furthermore, to enhance spiritual growth in painting by the way of introspection. The art works discussed in this study are mainly selected from works created between year 2008 and 2011. The first chapter presents related theoretical basis developing my own thinking vein on my art works and thus shows the concept and meaning of “Beauty and Sorrow”. In the second chapter, Theoretical Basis and Topic Discussion, I’ll ruminate on the symbols of those art works, and explore self-image and self-projection through the creation of self-portrait, shaping from subject to ego. In the third chapter, I will explain my work ideas and form analysis. Personal life experiences and thoughts influence work style. I’ll explore image forming and expressing, introduce work symbols, and by the way of memory reconstruction, portray spiritual space of the heroine through exquisite female thinking. In the fourth chapter, Analysis and Interpretation of My Works, there will be two series: “Beauty and Sorrow” and “Memory Collection”, which interpret the inner image of female beauty and sorrow, and collect childhood memory. Moreover, being a modern female, I’ll present a dialogue of souls with myself from both occupational and familial standpoints. This study transforms spiritual image into symbols in both concrete and abstract ways and presents the inner dialogue between “female” and “ego” to make more creative works in the future.
