Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩士班 === 100 === The main purpose of this study was to investigate the situation of cooperative learning applied to summarizing strategy instruction of the sixth graders. This study had five objectives: 1. to investigate the method of cooperative learning applied to summarizing strategy instruction of the sixth graders; 2. to investigate students’ performance of summary ability before, during, after the summarizing strategy instruction; 3. to investigate cooperative learning applied to summarizing strategy instruction encountered difficulties and solutions; 4. to investigate students’ feedback of teaching; 5. to investigate the reflections and growth of the researcher. Action research was adopted in this research. The researcher implemented 16 periods for 14 sixth grade students from February 2012 to April 2012, and used classroom observation, worksheet, teaching notes, interviews with students, feedback questionnaire and tests to collect data.The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The teaching process of learning together applied to summarizing strategy instruction is a feasible teaching method. 2. The summary ability of students was improved after the implementation of learning together applied to summarizing strategy instruction. 3. Learning together applied to summarizing strategy instruction, mainly faced the problems of students’ group discussion skills were poor and summarizing strategy were inexperienced. 4. Summarizing strategy needs teachers repeatedly guidance, and the students’ constant practice, so as to achieve mastery. 5. The students hold a positive attitude towards learning together applied to summarizing strategy instruction. 6. The researcher use learning together applied to summarizing strategy instruction, and then enhanced teachers’ professional competence. Finally, it was hoped that the research provided a reference for the teachers of elementary school and future researches.
