Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 數位內容科技學系碩士班 === 100 === Pictures play a very important role in children’s education, because lively or vivid pictures and illustrations work the best in catching children’ attention as well as leveling their interest in learning. Psychologically, moreover, certain data have suggested that the people’s reception of knowledge is relevant with its different forms. As for verbal messages, since people’s brains reacts the most slowly to such forms of messages, those triggered judgment and reasoning in brains come much later. On the contrary, messages conveyed through pictures browse one to two times faster than verbal ones. Consequently, it is inferred that images or pictures brings better influence on teaching than oral messages. With the direct characterization of the image, the integration of technology with teaching enhances students or learners’ understanding of questions presented in words. Not only does this approach boost students’ interest in learning, but it also reduces students’ anxiety about math and further increases students’ learning effects. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of self-designed iconic representation animation teaching materials on fourth-grade elementary school students’ learning the lesson about mathematics which is expressed through words. At the same time, the study will study those students’ diversity in math anxiety and problem-solving ability with such materials. Meanwhile, with interviews and questionnaires, students’ opinions about such materials will be examined. The results turn out to be as follows. 1. Students’ learning was significantly promoted through iconic representation animation teaching materials, especial in multiplication and division learning. 2. Iconic representation animation teaching materials used in mathematics teaching can lower students’ math anxiety. 3. Iconic representation animation teaching materials used in mathematics teaching promote students’ problem-solving ability. 4. Students had positive attitude toward iconic representation animation teaching materials.
