The so-called Smartphone and Tablet are normally equipped with touch screen and the ability of go online anytime anyplace. The touch screen has transformed the entire user behavior and lowers down the digital divide for older generation. The emergence of touch screen may enable the ultimate goal of nature user interface the UX (user experience) always looking for; however, the same kind of advantage does not apply for UI developers. Due to various resolutions requirement and different version of operating systems, the scalability of multi-UI implementation became one of major barrier for application development. Most common problems for App developers encounter today are the screen sizes do not exactly match with Density or Resolution, it often requires developers to develop more than one application with different size layout for an application. This kind of development not only wasting the system resources, also minimize the flexibility of User Interface. This article would focus on visual distance and density calculation to come out an analysis for UI design flexibility and provide a reference design concept to resolve this problem. The implementation in this article will combined Smart device UI, media gathering technology, and scalable user interface design. All practice and study is based on Android operating system, and combine audio, video, social network content gathering method to complete the reference application. This flexible architecture design can be used for different screen size, resolution and multiple source gathering in developing application for smart devices. This study would validate the equation and concept through the visibility of Scalable UI, and verify the UI implement and subscribe content service on Android platform for Smartphone and Tablet.
