| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 台灣文化研究所碩士班 === 100 === Ming Cheng Dynasty wanted to resist the Qing Dynasty and restore the Ming Dynasty, it implemented the agricultural policy of combining military. Therefore, the areas of Yiwu and Baoshejia had opened up the development history in Dashe District. The development of army reclamation mostly belonged to cluster settlement that influenced Dashe greatly. In order to make the communication and delivery among the troops smoothly, “The Official Roads” had been established. Some of the roads are still the mainly internal or external roads in Dashe.
From Qing Dynasty to Japanese Colonial Period, the current settlements of Dashe are chiefly well-formed. During the Japanese Occupation Period, the population scale of settlement were getting larger, most people made a living by farming. The most prosperous
places located in Dashe, Linzihbian and Lizihnei Villages, especially in Sanjiaoyong area of San Nan Tan where the commerce had developed. Until the late Japanese ruling period, the industrial development of Dashe had the sugar refinery, rice mill and brick kiln factory. In belief, each settlement had its own belief sphere.
In the 1950s, Dashe and Renwu were separated and became the two independent counties. The population of Dashe was growing afterward while Dashe Industrial District set up in the 1970s. Beside that period of time, the population growth was slower than ever. After the establishment of Dashe Industrial Park, the industry was no longer just focused on farming, it gradually becomes emphasize on agriculture, commerce and industrial areas.
As for the aspects of entertainment and commerce, Dashe is also neighboring Shu-Te University, I-Shou University, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, E-Da World that facilitate its development. Besides, Guanyinshan Scenic Area is also in Dashe County where makes Dashe become the relaxing and leisure scenic spot as well as the stores along the mountain region have developed.
After 1986, more and more people had concerned about environmental awareness issue. Local residents started to care about the environment where they live and have the demand. Owing to the pollution caused by Dashe Industrial Park and safety events caused residents’ mental pressure, they started to have the conflicts with Industrial Park. In 1993, they had the document that specified Dashie Industrial Park changed into Grade B industrial area in 2018. Therefore, how to balance between developing industry and agriculture has become the most important thing to Dashe.
