碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 國文學系在職進修碩士班 === 100 === Chen Chi-Kwan was excellence both an architect and a painter of international recognition, the character with simple and honest,did calligraphy to further strengthen his foundation in traditional Chinese studies. Professionalism of the architect , Western art affected and created his unique philosophy, both morden painting skills and traditional culture contents has unique artistic value. This study focus on Chen Chi-Kwan’s Paintings, especially on the line expression and rhythm of Ink in calligraphy, traced his 87 years were punctuated by both joy and sorrow, study background from childhood in China to overseas.Then analyze his painting works and skills by kind，how to fit lines and Chinese calligraphy；discussion of his painting with Rhythm of Ink in Calligraphy，Collection three important exhibitions about him when he was 70,80 years old and 90 year old Birthday anniversary of the dead，the artist contents of three exhibitions and composite the evaluation of his concepts and monochrome ink to create a new kind of painting and influences. From the wealth of Chen’s art, let us realize and reflect on the ability of his master to innovate within tradition
