Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 社會教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 100 === The purpose of this study is to discuss the differences of the Multi-purpose Community Learning Center between an urban and a rural elementary school . The study adopted the qualitative research methodology to interview the principals, their assistant principals, the community residents in the urban and rural elementary schools. The results of this study made significant difference on organization structural practices , human resources and belief, curriculum arrangement and learning activities, funds charged, environmental equipment. The major findings are shown as following: In the organization structural practices:The urban Multi-purpose Community Learning Center made a role of the information center about learning, the rural one made a role of a network center connection to the community resource. In the human resources and belief:the principal is the most influential person to promote the community education ;the rural Multi-purpose Community Learning Center has a serious lack of teacher, it also made a influence on the types and periods of courses. In the curriculum arrangement and learning activities : The participation motivations of the urban community residents dependence on “social relationships” and “conscious interest”; the learning needs of them are up to “Love and belonging needs” and “Esteem needs” . The participation motivations of the rural community residents tend to “career progression” and “escape/stimulation”; the learning needs of them are up to “Physiological needs” and “Safety needs” . In the funds charged:The urban Multi-purpose Community Learning Center had achieved to the balance of payments ;the rural Multi-purpose Community Learning Center is limited by the income poverty therefore it couldn’t reach an agreement of user fees. In the environmental equipment:The urban Multi-purpose Community Learning Center primarily use the equipments in the urban elementary school ; the rural Multi-purpose Community Learning Center often takes advantage of the environmental equipments and the landscape resources outside the community. According to the findings and conclusions above, the study provided some suggestions and references for the administrative organs of government, the urban and the rural elementary schools which want to establish the Multi-purpose Community Learning Center and future studies.
