Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 台灣文化及語言文學研究所 === 100 === The creation is full of strong local color and rich humanistic care by Chen Ming-chang, plays the role of opening and promoting the wave of the movement of Taiwanese songs. With the lifting of martial law in 1987, Taiwanese songs stepped into the 1990’s with the rise of the movement of a wave of new Taiwanese songs. The development of Taiwanese songs has changed throughout history. The first creative Taiwanese pop song appeared in 1932. During the 1950’s, Taiwanese films and songs complimented each other. Campus folk songs and Western songs were popular until the 1970’s. Taiwanese songs gradually got the stereotype of the low-level songs under the policy of the mono-language of Mandarin (Mandarin only). Because of dramatic social changes in the 1980’s, Taiwanese songs had waited for action after having accumulated power in the historical background. The theme of this thesis mainly focuses on the creative process and the characteristics of the Taiwanese songs by Chen Ming-chang. The creative process of the Taiwanese songs by Chen Ming-chang will be explored in this paper. Characteristics of his Taiwanese songs will be analyzed and studied in the second part. Through the immersion of the New Taiwanese Music movement, the experience of life and traditional music from the land connotation, creations of Chen Ming-chang shape four characteristics which are the reproduction of old Taiwan, environmental awareness, care of vulnerable and territorial identity. The position and value of Chen Ming-chang in the history and the development of Taiwanese songs will be defined in the analysis of this paper.
