This study evaluates the wave energy concentration effect of crescent shoal with different scale during irregular wave actions. Long crested waves and short crested waves were generated by SWAN, the wave conditions around a pseudo boundary crested by a refraction-diffraction model around the crescent shoal were then calculated and introduced into the last model to simulate the wave condition around the shoal. The distribution of wave amplification factors was evaluated and the wave concentration phenomena were discussed. The results show that wider shoal with suitable submerged depth and central angle can obtain the optimal wave focus effect. Longer wave component, however, can induce the front shore reflection.
