Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 100 === “The Research of Campaign Songs in Taiwan after the Lifting of Martial Law,” is the research topic for this thesis. I am applying after the lifting of martial law (from 1987 to 2012) as the scope of my study. I have collected 146 of the Nationalist Party ( KMT) campaign songs, 207 of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) campaign songs, 11 of the New Party campaign songs, 14 of the People First Party campaign songs, 12 of the Taiwan Solidarity Union party campaign songs, and 60 of the non-party candidate’s campaign songs. My research is organized in accordance with the established order of the political parties; Taiwan's campaign songs are divided into the KMT, DPP, and other political parties (including: the New Party, People First Party, Taiwan Solidarity Union, and non-party candidates). Through thorough collecting and sorting of information of the campaign songs to the understanding of the contents of the campaign songs; their meaning, connotation, and to analyze the campaign songs for their tunes (including: the organization of tones, tempos, rhythms, song’s body structures, habitual sound shapes, tune featured), and lyric forms (including: lyrics content, the type of lyrics, paragraph type, sentence, rhyme, lyrics features, etc.). My thesis focuses on comparing the similarities and differences of political parties’ campaign songs. Through field surveys, data collections, literature reviews, summarized analysis, research and other methods; to complete exploration of the campaign songs played in the elections. The roles of the campaign songs, its characteristics, and to understand how candidates’ campaign songs achieves the main purpose of marketing one’s self, so that the public can have a better understanding of Taiwan's election culture.
