Past studies on studio process were mostly practice experiences outlined by art therapists, and there were fewer studies based on the process regarding clients’ subjective experience. Hence, the purpose of this study is to explore the application of Studio Process by an art therapy group in college for art making and writing, and to understand the influence of Studio Process on self-awareness and self-empowerment. Based on the creative experience of the members, the result of the study shows that Studio Process does indeed help the creators enter the core of artistic experience, and connect with their inner creative origin to generate therapeutic insights. The study has found the following influences of Studio Process on self-awareness and self-empowerment: 1) establish of the self-concept and value 2) reframe of the past and to promote self-acceptance 3) observe and discover of interpersonal relationships and the relationship with environment 4) increase confidence and sense of achievement 5) release inner emotions, and experience positive emotions such as serenity and happiness 6) learn the practical knowledge of Studio Process to strengthen personal resource.
